Punjab government is leading the way to the supply of clean drinking water, year marking PKR 12 billion for the project. Installing Filtration Plants is the right approach but going for ultra filtration, Reverse osmosis is too much to start with. Our major issue is microbiological contamination so a simple filtration and UV treatment should be enough for more than half the punjab. then we need to focus on Arsenic in central Punjab and Flouride and nitrate in other areas. Putting ultra filtration at sargodha where a big source of water of TDS less than 250 ppm is available , going for such high operational cost and high tech plant will be counter productive. we have this experience in the past via ministry of special initiatives. Lot of analytical data is with PCRWR. One design does not fit all.
