LAHORE: Experts of a prominent German company in water sector met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, here on Monday.
The German experts announced to provide every possible technical assistance for Saaf Pani programme in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Punjab government had evolved a big programme of provision of clean drinking water to citizens through “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme”. He said the work was in progress on the programme with commitment and determination. He said that under “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme”, the same drinking water would be provided to the citizens as is available to the elite.
The Chief Minister said that this programme was of utmost importance in establishing a healthy society. He said that this was not merely a programme but a movement and has to be implemented with hard work, passion and determination. He said that he personally reviews this important programme on regular basis. He said this programme would have to be implemented with team spirit and a professional manner.
He asked the German experts to provide technical assistance to Punjab government in capacity-building of Saaf Pani companies. He directed to form a committee to submit final recommendations regard with consultation. He said that selection of German experts for clean drinking water programme is welcome. The Chief Minister said that he was pleased that internationally renowned German company has been selected as consultant for this programme in a transparent manner. He said that German experience and skill would prove very useful in furthering this programme.
Project Director Friedrich Fahriaender said that they all possible technical assistance will be provided for Saaf Pani programme.
Provincial Minister for Housing Tanvir Aslam Malik, Chairman Saaf Pani Company North Punjab Maj.(R) Tahir Iqbal MNA, Chairman Saaf Pani Company South Punjab Kashif Padhiyar MPA, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, concerned authorities and senior officials of the German company Fichtner were present on the occasion.
